Math Maniac!!

I had to do the south Australian mathematics competition. It was very challenging and had alot of question's. I got proficiency, my score was 9/30. That is lame but it was quite a hard test. But at least I had fun. I hope that other people will go into the competition like I did.

ALL BLACKS ROCKS

Yesterday room 8 had to do a photo shoot for a competition where we wanted to pretend to be an audience in a sports stadium. We had to dress in black. If we win we have an All Black come and visit our classroom!!! We had to have at least two Argentina supporters. I watch rugby on T.V[Especially the All Blacks.] New Zealand is a sporting country. That's why were good at rugby!!!! My favourite All Black is Dan Carter!!!! He is the bomb, literally. I haven't seen an All Black game live  but I have seen a Chiefs game. I would love to see an All Black game live!

Kapa Haka

I really like kapa haka. The reason I like kapa haka is because my mum did it when she was a kid. I also have a lot of my friends in it including: Oisin, Adam, Joesph and Ranjiv. These are two of our songs we have been learning, Papaketitaha and Toia. I really enjoy kapa haka. BYE!

Lets Fly Some Kites

In room 8 we have been making kites and our inspiration was Li Cunxin. He is important because he is in a story we've been reading called The Peasant Prince. In the story Li grew up in China. Li had a home made kite with his wishes tied to it!(He was very poor!!!!) Li went on to become one of the best ballet dancer in the world.  He was taken from his family when he was 11. So we decided to make Chinese kites. The dragon on my kite is a symbol of hope.

What is culture?

What is culture? Culture is what defines us. It is what makes us all different. What is your culture? Culture is your different skin colour, different types of dances and different types of ceremonies and also we have different languages. I can't forget about the food, we have all types of food. Whats your cultures types of food? What have I forgotten? hmmmm. I know the clothes, now the clothes are just what other people with different cultures think are weird. Now we all have different clothes. What are your cultures clothes? Now what's next on the agenda, our last thing is different types of learning, like the Chinese start primary at age 6 not 5, But it's their way. Bye

Gymsport

YesterdayRroom 8 did gymsport outside and my partner was Joseph and we did everything  right. In this particular partner balance  you had to bend down and put your arms out and lean on each others backs. If one falls it means your not balanced enough, so you have to be around the same height to do these activities. Joseph and I nailed it!

My favorite tongue twister

This is my favorite tongue twister.

How much wood would a woodchuck chuck
If a woodchuck could chuck wood?
He would chuck, he would, as much as he could,
And chuck as much wood as a woodchuck would
If a woodchuck could chuck wood.

See if you can say it fast.

Muesem trip

2 weeks ago room 8 and room 7 drove to the world of wearable arts museum. we first had enter a classroom and learn a bit about the world of wearable arts. then they said one classroom go out to the exhibition and see the costumes that was room 7. Room 8 stayed behind and learnt more about the costumes they were about to see in the exhibition. Then they swapped over when room 8 got back from the exhibition everybody had to get into a group of three and make a head piece out of paper then when they were finished they stood them under a blue light that makes everything white glow the colour of the light. then it was all over.

Term 1 Reflection

My highlight of term 1 was having  middle syndicate camp because I got to stay at school overnight and I got too see my friends all night and day. What I improved is my relationship with other students because I made a new friend. His name is Adam and we are the best of friends. My goal for term 2 is to sit up on the mat and don't call out. I hope I can achieve this by the end of term 2.

Marmite is back

Facts about Marmite

  • Marmite originated from England.

  • New Zealand has been making Marmite for over 100 years. It is a vegetarian spread.

  • In the 2012 Christchurch earthquake the factory had been damaged and the workers couldn't work inside the factory with out hurting themselves.

Opinion

I really hate Marmite because its flavour doesn't agree with my tastes buds and I just think it's too sour and not enough sweetness for me.

Sience & patter Tennis

Today Mac brought a home made solar oven for oral language. We are testing it today with Ranjiv's pie. We can't wait to see what happens to the pie when it's finished. The best time to cook it is between 12pm till 2pm.You can make the food cook faster by painting the foil black, as black attracts the sun.

On Mondays we play patter tennis, and learn different tennis skills

We learnt about an app that let's you describe yourself to other people.

My Favourite Part About Camp

My favourite part about camp was playing in and around the tents with my friends. We played spy's,our secret base was Macs tent because know one would suspect it. We spyed on heaps of people especially the second biggest tent because it's the closest and it's easy. I liked this part because in get to play with my friends.

Photos in the mirror

This is a photo Mrs Paraha took to put on our learning log covers as a photo to show who it was and what they look like. Mrs Paraha took them not just to put on our learning log but to do something new. Like how they thought of a new TV like the smart TV for example it doesn't need a remote it has a sensore like xbox kinect.
I like the way Mrs Paraha did this because she made it look like you see back of your head and  your face at the exact same time. This is a fun way to do photos you should try this at home and maybe put it on a note book at home or an old writing book from last year maybe, anyway that's the end of my post.
